Hi. My Name is Acadia. And I suck.

It hurts, folks. Not like being burned alive, but maybe like being INDIAN burned alive. The sting of my failures is the kind of thing that I thought I was prepared for. It turned out that I was sort of prepared, but the immensity of how crappy I am stunned me.

Don't get me wrong; the site as a whole is doing great. We have made it to 146,850 on Alexa, and it seems like other sites on the Internet have begun to notice we are here. So overall, things are good.

It's me that sucks.

Here is a list of my failures over the past few weeks. It is a partial list, as I have not included anything that is not directly related to the site. so anyone secretly hoping that I will tell you the story of what happened to my electric car project can kiss my ass. This is only Gallery Fail.

My appeal for writers. You can go witness this failure by clicking here: Writers Wanted. After trying to figure out how to pay people to write for the site for quite a while, I finally came up with a plan that works. I was all excited, and thought to myself: "maybe the people who didn't write for the fun of it needed some incentive! NOW I CAN PAY!" And nothing. Not a thing. So the people that wrote for free all left, and nobody else wants to do it, even for money. So it is just me. Sometimes I drop one of my cats on the keyboard to seeif something good comes out, but so far it hasn't worked. So I hope you are entertained right now, cause this is all you are gonna get.

The TV Contest. This one, honestly, I don't get. I am giving away a $25.00 GC to Amazon and all you have to do is go to the Batcave and pick which 7 new shoes from this season will be cancelled first. For the life of me, I don't understand why this has been such a failure. Even most of the people who already go to the Batcave didn't enter. So either you are all rich, or else you don't know about it. Or it was a shitty idea and I suck. I am betting it is the last one.

Yuwie. I got involved in that new Social Networking Site (the link is my referral link, so be forewarned), Yuwie. I signed up because their video ad (that got served on my own site) sucked me in. So it is pretty much the same as every other site, except they pay you for page views. That's not the point, though. I was actually enjoying myself and am now addicted to making those comment picture things. It was fun - then last night I got banned. Or blocked. Or something. So I had to delete a bunch of crap until they let me back in.

Anyway, I guess the common thread with these problems is that all attempts I have made to create any kind of community around the site have failed. I am not really sure why that is, but it is. Over 1000 people a day come and look at the pics and the other stuff we have, which is great. But I can't seem to get anyone to actually get involved beyond that. I assume I am doing something wrong. If you have any ideas, let me know. Oh wait, that's the point. You won't.
