Before the Sunday Night game, NBC said they polled the 20 living Hall of Fame QBs as to who was better between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. Manning got THIRTEEN votes, only two for Brady with five being bitches and not picking one.

This seems easy to me...it's Tom Brady, and it doesn't even seem close. Career completion % about the same, Manning has a big advantage in yards per game at like 270 to 240. 213 TDs and 91 picks in 120 games for Brady. 349 TDs/170 picks in 184 games for Manning.

But, I think the difference here is that Manning has always had weapons, both in terms of more receivers and certainly in terms of a running game. How many huge seasons did Edge have for Manning? Brady had like one year where Corey Dillon went off.

Then, in the one year where Brady arguably had as good a team as Manning has had all these years (just in terms of offensive weapons), he put up 4800 yards and 50 TDs.

Just seemed crazy to me that all those QBs went with Manning over Brady when Brady has always had less to work with, so of course the overall numbers are going to be less, but his work in crucial moments of games just seems unparalleled.

If my life was on the line and only a current quarterback's performance could save me and I could choose that man - it would be Peyton no doubt. Brady is good but I have more faith that Manning would pull it out in the end. I would have answered it the same way before last night's game too.

There are other issues here, as to why I would need a QB to save my life...but that's another matter.
