This kid is money. Straight up money. Watch all the girls at gymboree be all over him. The little tramps! He best keep his head on straight and concentrate on hoops. At least until he’s like, three.

And, if you want to see a video about basketball that also has karate fighting – here’s Kurtis Blow with Basketball. I wish I could have been a rapper when rap first started. All you had to do was rhyme and not sing. It was like nursery rhymes with a beat.

What a crazy ass tournament. KU choked and made me cry, Butler played the most bizarre game I think I’ve ever seen and there were 49567392 other games I didn’t see. Seriously, Butler’s passing game is amazing (as a team of short guys’ is gonna be) but holy crap, they couldn’t hit a gd thing and UConn wasn’t putting up a defense. I’m still irked by the final game but whatever. Butler also has the youngest, cutest coach ever. He’s taken them to Championship two years running so he is definitely a coach to watch. And not just cuz he’s cute.
I proposed a big fun bracket guess challenge game and only bluzdude played. I had promised a prize to anyone who guessed the ultimate winner properly. Since bluz was the only one who even tried, I’m sending him the prize as if he had been right. Effort over skill, people. I always reward effort over skill.

I know there are mountains in Chile, but I was not aware that they build their cities on them. I mean, on the whole mountain. The video after the jump is a helmet cam shot of some crazy idiot riding all the way down a frigging street. I mean – down the sidewalk, down steps, over jumps, whipping past the very confident crowd, this guy is ridiculous. And you will get why I call the crowd confident when you see how close the guy gets to them.
There is nothing like this in the U.S. I don’t even know if there is any town built like this in the US. I guess it would be like riding your bike down Mt. Rushmore, then going down all the steps of the Washington Monument, then down that street in San Francisco. Oh, and a dog would be there. See the dog? DON’T YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS TO THE DOG? Find out after the jump!
UPDATE: WE HAVE THREE PLAYERS! AND ONE OF THEM IS ME. AND ONE IS ACADIA. SO OTHER THAN BLUZDUDE YOU ALL CAN SUCK IT. BLUZ’ GUESS SHEET IS AFTER THE JUMP; ACADIA PUT HIS IN THE COMMENTS. NO COOKIES FOR THE REST OF YOU!
So March Madness is upon us and, as always, I’m running a little bit late. There’ve been some pretty good games with more to come. Where I work, this sort of thing isn’t permitted so I figured we could do a bracket challenge here on The Superficial Gallery. I scribbled on the lines and scanned that business.
So long as KU wins, I don’t much care. I also don’t really expect KU to win. I choose teams based on emotions and the players themselves. I like Thomas Robinson and think he has shown some real courage on and off the court this year. Mostly, though, I just like watching two well matched teams fight it out.
At any rate, you can print out the bracket and make your guesses and email it to me: vange AT superficialgallery DOT com and I will publish that shit and we can figure out who is the best guesser. Any entrant who correctly guesses the national champ gets a box of Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies. My niece is a hard core salesperson and I got bullied into buying a shit ton. So play and win. Or I’ll send my niece to your house next year. You can see why you need to play The Superficial Gallery Bracket Challenge after the jump, lookit my guess sheet, and click a link to your very own guess sheet. Those lines sure are tiny so use a pen with a very super fine point tip even though they are scratchy and nasty and make your handwriting look scribbly. I hate fine tip pens.
Since I posted this so late, the deadline for entries is Friday at midnight EST, so the first round is a gimme for you people. Knowing who wins those gives yawl an advantage!
So, it’s about time for college basketball to do that March Madness thing, is it not? I don’t really follow college sports. My first and only clue is that it’s March. Anyway, I figure that this would be a good time to post the picture I found that captures two players in a somewhat awkward position. I try to be topical.
It seems that when you watch one basketball related documentary on Netflix you are recommended every other one that’s been made as well. 2009′s “More Than A Game” is the story of young Lebron James’ high school career in Akron, Ohio and the bond he formed with four guys on his high school team. It’s the bond of friendship and a story about what people go through when faced with hardship and adversity, and it is also what happens when someone gets famous enough to be able get people interested in his high school videos.
