I want to start this off by saying that I am not getting any kind of kickback from these guys. I just think it is a sweet service.
OK – now that that’s out of the way, let’s get to the good stuff. If you have never heard of Free Conferece Call, you need to get your ass over there right now. The service is free. No strings, no joke. You can have a conference call at no charge to you. You can even record it if you’re a freak.
Why is it free? Well, it’s a toll call to Iowa, but pretty much everyone has free long distance these days. The reason it’s free has to do with when AT&T got broken up. Some small local carriers were protected in the legislation, and the big companies have to subsidize the line usage. So…the Free Con Call guys cut a deal with one of the carriers, and so now, every time one of their lines gets used – they get paid by the big companies.
That said – the service is clear as a bell, and they have added a new feature everyone can have some fun with. Free Voice Mail. Register on their site. You will get a phone number and a mailbox number. Record your greeting and you are done. Give it out to anyone you want. Friends, family, bill collectors, anyone you want.
When someone calls and leaves you a message, you get an email. And if you log in to the site, you can listen to it online or download it. This is seriously a great service, and I demand that you all call the Gallery and leave us a message this instant! That number again:
