What motivates you to do what you do?

Making movies is the same as breathing to me. I do it to keep on living.

Who is your favorite woman who does what you do?

Maya Deren

If you had one wish for women in your space in 2020, what would it be?

To meet the right people. And I’m not talking about people in the industry. It’s important to have a support network – whether that’s one person or a few, who make you feel good about yourself and encourage you to live your dream fiercely.

Share a practical tip for a woman who wants to do what you do.

Just do it. Seriously, when you wake up and it’s all you think about doing, make it happen. Today is the day. If you don’t have money, get a job. Write a story. Move on to pre-production, start talking about the film, and keep on going.

Inspire someone who is not where they want to be in the industry yet.

Every day you have the ability to make things happen. What you want to achieve might not happen exactly when you want it to, so trust in the universe.

What scares you?

The death of cinema

What projects do you have coming up?

My feature film Black Lake is having its world premiere at the Women in Horror Film Festival. I’m also working on my next feature.
