The last perfect game in baseball was in 2004 with Randy Johnson on the hill. Yesterday afternoon, Mark Buehrle pitched one for the Chicago White Sox.
For sports fans, there’s not a whole lot of non-playoff accomplishment that would top a perfect game. When the Sox announcer said to tell everyone you know that Buehrle was taking a perfect game into the 9th, chances are, you either were telling people as you watched the game or having it told to you.
And then, in the 9th inning, Gabe Kapler launched a shot to center field. The perfect game looked like it was done until Dewayne Wise leapt and robbed Kapler of a home run. To top it off, Wise juggled the ball as he crashed back down to the field. It was one of the best catches I have seen in a baseball game. Two outs later and Buehrle had completed the perfect game.
Hats off to Buehrle.
It is one of the few things in sports (other than I guess bowling and darts) that can actually be called perfect. And i am not too sure about darts.
what’s the perfect game in darts?
I think you can like, hit every number you need with no misses. Like, it takes X number of shots to get the required score.
I figured it out on wikipedia that there is a 9 throw 501 you can get. I was thinking 301 because that is the game set up in Grand Theft Auto IV and I hadn’t figured out how to beat that in a minimum throws.
