"I rock!"

"I rock!"

The last perfect game in baseball was in 2004 with Randy Johnson on the hill. Yesterday afternoon, Mark Buehrle pitched one for the Chicago White Sox.

For sports fans, there’s not a whole lot of non-playoff accomplishment that would top a perfect game. When the Sox announcer said to tell everyone you know that Buehrle was taking a perfect game into the 9th, chances are, you either were telling people as you watched the game or having it told to you.

And then, in the 9th inning, Gabe Kapler launched a shot to center field. The perfect game looked like it was done until Dewayne Wise leapt and robbed Kapler of a home run. To top it off, Wise juggled the ball as he crashed back down to the field. It was one of the best catches I have seen in a baseball game. Two outs later and Buehrle had completed the perfect game.

Hats off to Buehrle.
