Our Conversation with Melissa Jurkowski

Mells is a rookie to the Women in Horror Month Celebration.  Her podcast is called: The Good Evening, Kiddies! Podcast

What’s your show about?

It’s a podcast that reviews every episode and movie tied to the tv series Tales from the Crypt. I also throw in some horror movie reviews and have guests on episodes.

What are some of your favorite episodes?

The Reluctant Vampire review, The Secret review, Korman’s Kalamity review, and my horror movie review of Jeepers Creepers 3.

How well do you think horror is represented in the podcast world?

I think pretty well especially for horror movies. There is quite the horror community out there and it’s pretty supportive and welcoming.

What about women-led podcasts? In your experience, are they common or rare in horror?

A bit less common.

What podcast/podcaster influenced you to begin podcasting and why?

Jesse vs Cancer and Faculty of Horror. It helped me realize my podcast format, what I wanted.

Inspire someone who is just starting out in the podcast world.

Really prepare what your want your podcast to be about, the format, the name, etc. And bank up some episodes and really promote it before dropping episodes.

What’s your favorite experience as a woman horror podcaster so far?

Talking to the horror community online and finding like minded supportive people and people with differing opinions.

What do you have coming up?

I’m going to be a guest on So I Married a Movie Geek podcast in March 2019.
