Listen I know you all think I am just angry at everyone but I’m actually a nice person. The saying goes that the optimist has the hardest time because they wake up every day expecting good things and get disappointed all day long, while the pessimist wakes up expecting nothing and isn’t disappointed. Anyway, enough philosophy. My point is the reason I get angry is always because someone(s) is/are being awful to someone(s) else. So here is some feel good stuff to help you make the world a better place.
I found out about a bunch of awesome places that sell goods or help facilitate gifts that have an awesome mission behind them, but in most cases it was too late for me to do anything about it for Christmas, so how about for the New Year you pick something from the below list (or find something else great yourself) and do a little something to chip away at all the bad stuff going on?
I did succeed in receiving a pair of Punjammies as a gift for Christmas (thanks to my baby brother Brian) so there’s one thing. Seriously, these are great, check them out, and do something great!
PUNJAMMIES™ are loungewear trousers made with hope by women in India who have escaped human trafficking. Whenever you purchase PUNJAMMIES™, you invest in the freedom and dignity of these women and girls who are working to forge a new life for themselves and their children.
Naja’s commitment to women extends beyond our customers. Through our partnership with the Golondrinas Foundation and our Underwear for Hope program, Naja helps educate single mothers so that they can learn marketable skills. We then employ them so that they can help themselves and their children.
Every product we make is hand-signed by the person who made it. Over 185 women and their families are being empowered through the products made at Krochet Kids Intl. and the programs we provide.
Our goal is to empower people to rise above poverty. On top of that, we create products with exceptional quality and sophisticated design. It’s a win/win.
The Giving Keys
Employing those who are looking to transition out of homelessness
We are a non-profit organization with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. Leveraging the internet and a worldwide network of microfinance institutions, Kiva lets individuals lend as little as $25 to help create opportunity around the world.
The Empowerment Plan
And maybe you just want to give or receive a hug from the internet. If so, check out The Nicest Place on the Internet.
