Scientists have created a material that can render objects invisible. It’s called Metamaterial and is used by producing negative refraction of visible light. That tells me nothing except that it makes things appear invisible. It also means that in the future I can wear this neat material and become invisible. I had planned on robbing banks until I was asked, “Won’t people see the money floating away?” Foiled again, my plans!

Um, wouldn;t you put the money under the cape?
Excpet it doesn’t make things invisible, a little harder to see from a distance from some angles maybe, but not invisible.
Ooooh, it’s Star Trek coming to life, sweet!
I saw this yesterday on the news. I’m surprised that they even released it to the media. I would think the military would want to keep it top secret.
I can think of all sorts of fun stuff to do with this. A lot of evil stuff too though. I agree that the military would totally take it over at first, but then a new technology would come along to make it obsolete.
All ya got’s to do is put the money inside the cape!
But then you would need a really big cape and would probably trip on it as you made your getaway and no one would be able to help you if you broke your ankle or sumtin like that!
Interesting project although even if we do figure out how to produce such technology I am sure it will be strictly used for the military. I also agree with Lisa as I thought it was odd to be released through the media.
I’ve always wanted to be invincible.
I hope I see this in my lifetime. I would love the chance to be invincible and sneak into a ladies locker room. Booo yah!
I’m guessing the Potter movie franchise wishes Harry (Danial) would wear it in his next project. His role in Equus.
