Well, it’s the end of a year and the beginning of another.  Time for me to take stock of the year that was here at the Gallery and then ridicule it mercilessly.  If you’d like to see how things shook out in 2010 or 2011, just click those links.  Holy crap, I’ve been here for 3 years?!  Most people come here, write a post or two, then disappear into the abyss never to be seen again.  Speaking of which, those new writers I mentioned in last year’s post?  Yeah, didn’t last.  Shocker, I know.  On the flipside, we did gain two new writers this year, Eva Halloween and Princess Peach.  They’ve been around for most of the year so I’d wager all the money that Acadia doesn’t pay me that they stick around.

The site layout is new.  Acadia decided to mix it up a little and also changed the header pic.  Then he stripped the mine down to the bare essentials, which in this case means he took out the pictures that no one ever looked at and were just taking up bandwith.  When all was said and done, he ended up getting rid of more pictures than he kept.

Overall, the Gallery built on the success of last year and managed even more hits this year than 2011.   The contests we ran this year (Halloween Costume Contest & Picture Perfect and the February Picture Perfect) were also very successful.  I think the best thing to come out of either of those contests was this picture:

Looks like that’s all the yearly news.  Guess it’s time to get down to business then.  As usual I’ve got two top 10 lists here, one for multiple picture posts and one for single posts.  The reason for doing it like this is that on multiple picture posts, it counts each picture view as a hit.  That makes it a little hard to compare it to stuff with all it’s content on one page.  I should also mention that these are all posts made in the year of 2012.  There were some posts made in previous years that managed to still get tons of hits this year, such as this Kate Beckinsale Bikini Sunday post from 2011 that managed way more hits than anything else this year.  Of course, the all time heavyweight champion of Superficial Gallery is still Ice Road Trucker Girl Lisa Kelly.  But I digress.  Hit the jump for lists.

#10   These Girls Are Better Geeks Than You – Eva starts us off with a bunch of pics of ladies dressed up in Star Wars gear.  Pretty good stuff here, but incredibly confusing to my wiener.

#9   Bikini Sunday – Retro Edition – Betty Brosmer – Who’s up for some black and white pics of grandma back when she was hot?  You do realize your grandma was hot once, right?  She was.  That’s not disturbing at all, is it?

#8   Bikini Sunday – Nina Agdal – Ah yes, Nina Agdal.  I loved her in…um…these pictures.  She was in these pictures.

#7   Bikini Sunday – Catherine Bell – And here we have Catherine Bell.  She was in JAG.  You know, that one show.  The one with the thing.  Also, stick around in this post to see Acadia lose it because people who don’t watch TV are better than him and he doesn’t know how to handle it.

#6   Bikini Sunday – Healthy Competition – Acadia ran some kind of tournament on Google+ about who has the best chesticles.  This post gives you the brackets or something.  I don’t know, it’s confusing.  So who won?  No idea.  Who cares?  BOOBS.

#5   Bikini Sunday – Olympic Edition – Leryn Franco – Leryn Franco was in the Olympics.  She didn’t place or anything, but she was there.  So, she’s better than you.  That’s how that works, right?

#4   Bikini Sunday – Skanky Halloween Costume Edition – What says Halloween better than a slutty costume?  A bunch of things do, actually.  But hey, if you want to put on a skanky costume, go right ahead.  I’m game.

#3   Bikini Sunday – Ellie Gonsalves – It’s no surprise to find Ellie on this list.  I mean, she’s so popular that any list would have to have her on it to be legit, right?  And if we are anything, we’re legit.

#2   Bikini Sunday – Shannen Doherty – LOLZ.  You people are funny.

#1   Bikini Sunday – Scarlett Johansson – What’s this?  Someone I’ve actually heard of?  Color me shocked.  If that’s a color.  I think it is.

#10   The Avengers – A Review – We leave the top hit getter in the multi picture posts, Scarlett Johansson, to view the first article in the single post division.  Who do we have here?  Why, it’s Scarlett Johansson!  And Acadia spends an incredible amount of time complaining about her here, too.  This post also birthed the incredibly unpopular series of “Hulk Sings…” posts.

#9   Halloween 2012 – Picture Perfect and Costume Contest – In terms of prizes, this contest was the biggest we’ve ever put on here at the Gallery.  Look at me, I say “we” like I had anything to do with it.  This was all Acadia and Eva Halloween‘s doing.  Still, the contest was massive and you missed out on a good time if you skipped it.

#8   Friday Nineties – Britney Spears – …Baby One More Time – Ugh.  I can’t.  I just…can’t.

#7   Welcome Back Big Brother You Stupid, Stupid Show – Acadia watches Big Brother.  Let’s all point and laugh at him.  And at everyone else that somehow got this post on the list.  *Studies post closer*  Oh wait.  I see what did it.  Heh.

#6   I Love Monti on Masterchef and it isn’t Creepy – He also watches some show called Masterchef.  It has some girl with a huge railroad of teeth on it named Monti Carlo.  No, seriously.

#5   Real Life Barbie? – I found this really creepy girl that is trying to make herself a human Barbie doll.  It’s working.

#4   Taylor Swift Can’t Wear Same Dress Twice – No Word on Socks or Watches – Something about Taylor Swift.   Who gives a rat’s patoot?  Why, people?  WHY?

#3   HULK CRAP!! – Here I gave away a spoiler for the then upcoming Avengers movie.  If you haven’t seen the movie yet, you may want to skip this one.  It’s pretty heavy doody.

#2   Scarlett Johansson Makes a Huge Mistake – Well would you look at that – Scarlett makes her third appearance.  You guys must really love her.  Not as much as Acadia does though.  He’s not fooling anyone.

#1   Madonna – Still Licking Things After All These Years – And this year’s most viewed single post is…Madonna?  Really, folks?  Sigh.
