First, it was Tony LaRussa who sued Twitter, but I believe that got dropped. Now, some landlord is suing one of their former residents for libel based on a Tweet that the person made about mold in the apartment.

“There was no evidence of mold in her apartment” at the time she moved out, the company stated.

After that, the company came across a May 12 Twitter post by someone identified as Amanda Bonnen from Chicago and using the handle “abonnen” that stated: “Who said sleeping in a moldy apartment was bad for you? Horizon realty thinks it’s okay.”

Expect for this to be settled out of court or dismissed, but also expect for all sorts of “THE DANGERS OF TWITTER” articles that tell you over and over how your words on Twitter have a further reach than you might intend. You will laugh at all these articles, but that doesn’t mean editors aren’t lining up features on it.
